  • @Erika: Well, i drew the revolver in Photoshop, as different layers (see image below), not thinking about positions at all, then exported the artwork with your lovely PhotoshopToSpine.jsx script to save time and getting the exact placement for the layers in Spine.
So yeah, now all the layers float - and i see why the final Spine exported images would get blurry.

The mentioned 50x50 image had a sharp 1px border, and i see after exporting the image out of Spine the borders didn't get blurry, as the image wasn't floating.

It all makes sense now 🙂 thanks for explaining.
Luckily it's only for optimization, so as an artist, no harm is done 😃

@Nate: Glad to hear that the issue is fixed. Hopefully we'll update to a newer version soon

  • When i'm exporting an frame from a spine animation, the .png file gets somewhat blurry. See the gif above.

I don't know if it's related, but i discovered, that the Spine exporter adds 1 pixel transparency padding on the right side of the image. So, when i created inserted a 50x50px image into spine and exported it, it came out as 50x51px.

I'm running Spine version 3.6.41 Pro, with launcher 3.6.46.

  • Thanks, Erikari !

  • Would simply LOVE to have the Duplicate, Rename and Delete buttons in the Animations panel to speed up the process.

Also then i don't have to select the animation name twice in order to duplicate it 😉

  • Thanks, Nate - but unfortunately now the script fails when i try to run it 😢
I tried it out on different .psd files and different locations, and on another computer.

When i run it through Adobe ExtendScript, it simply returns with 3 undefined.

    Any idea on whats wrong?

  • I've just send you the mail. Thanks for fast response!

btw, sorry for not posting this in the bug channel 😮

  • Hello :hi:

When i'm using the newest version of PhotoshopToSpine.jsx and use the padding feature, when i import the json file, the placement of the slots/attachments appears offset in the Spine editor.

    Here's my export settings:

PhotoshopToSpine.jsx adds the padding on the .png files completely fine, but it's the .json code, which are off.
Instead of adding the padding on each side, it adds all the padding on the left and the bottom of the element.

I've attached a screenshot of a coal symbol, where the bug is appearing, just to clearify.

All the coal pieces are seperated .png files, and the blueish coal symbol in the background is a template image, showing where they were supposed to be be positioned.

    Any

    Specs:
I'm running win10 64bit, Photoshop CC 2017.1.1 Release and Spine version: 3.6.41 Professional, launcher: 3.4.04.

  • Great idea - I would love this feature as well!

  • Awesome - that task just received my vote 😉

  • I would really love to be able to organise my layers manually, instead of the alphabetical order system. Especially in the animation tree, but the whole tree would be awesome 🙂

E.g; I have created a bunch of animation, and i need the character to point a specific, but basicly it's the same animation
Due to our naming convention, my layer tree will end up like the attached image. And my guesstimate is that i'll end up with 30-40 animations, which with this ordering system will create a bad overview in my spine editor.

Actually the same goes for the group sections; root, Images, Draw order.
I seldom uses the Draw Order section, but because i have a small z-index change it tends to fold out, and then i always have to close to again.

    Thanks for listening 😉

  • Neat, thanks, Nate 🙂

  • When is IK planned to support Javascript runtime? We're very eager to implement IK in our game productions

  • We're a studio up in Aalborg using Spine as well. It would definitely be neat to meetup and have a Spine day

You know, what? We would gladly host such an event, if people are interested 🙂

Wow, I opened this thread and didn't have to make another change to the damned LayersToPng script! Amazing! 😃

Haha - I could imagine you were getting fed up with all the bugs, so i decided to give you some slack 😉

When you move an image from one slot to another it should not lose its position. What are the exact steps you are taking?

Hmm. This is quite odd - and wonderful at the same time. When i try to recreate the scenario, the repostioned image actually acts as it should :o Did you change something? Nevertheless, it works - and it made my day

  • Wonderful, Nate! It works like a charm!

Another thing; my character has 3 mouth images / regions and when i import it into spine, every mouth image gets it own separate slot - and when i want to move the 3 images into one slot for animation purposes, they lose the coordinates, so i manually have to repostition it, which can be a bit of a timeconsumer. 😢
Is there some feature i overlook? I don't think the skin feature is suitable for these small changes, am i right?

Did you have any thoughts on the qoute above?
Would it be possible to name a group layer in Photoshop a specific name, which the export script would catch and place the sublayers into one single slot in Spine?
