  • Importing Animation From After Effects?

Hi Everyone! I'm relatively new to Spine, so I am not quite sure what I am doing wrong? :$
So I did an animation with a "rotating" leaf in After Effects. It's comprised of several images of the leaf in perspective which move along a path. Spine did not seem to have a way to setup a motion path curve like After Effects, but I do not understand how to save it out for importing into Spine. None of the options in the Render Queue are .json or binary. Am I missing something?

Exporting / Importing from After Effects using a script is discussed here though I haven't read through all of it. Hopefully that at least points you in the right direction!

Hi doctorgalactic, thanks so much for getting back to me. I'll take a look at the link and see it it helps. 🙂

Hey everyone I'm back. 🙂

So I tried out the script and I am getting an error message when I try to import the .json file from After Effects.
It reads:

"An error occurred when importing the skeleton. Please be sure to choose a valid skeleton JSON or binary file."

Anybody know what may be causing the error?

I tried using this script as well and received an error. Is there anyone from development that reads the forums?

Getting the same error. Is anyone looking at these forums? Any way to look at error logs?

Thanks for the alert!
Definitely direct script inquiries my way. I'll try to take a look this evening. If you have a sample After Effects file/assets you can zip up and send me, that might help if it's a case I can't reproduce.

One more thing. Some times the things that cause this error can be subtle. After you get the error, open Settings, scroll down to Log and click Open to view the Spine logs. If memory serves me, there will be more details in there like line numbers and other error details. Post or email those details along with the JSON file and that will go a long way towards getting a fix in!
Thanks.
