Hello Guys,
I would like to ask you guys before you release 3.7 to make a small reorganization change of your files so that we can use ADF ( Assembly Definition File ) for Spine Runtime.
So as you likely know Unity is solving hard the issue with compilation times when project has thousands of source code files. For that they devised ADF which is pretty easy to use given you follow simple directory stucture.
So in order we can have Spine Runtime be applicable for ADF we need to have editor scripts in spine-unity-editor folder completely separated from spine-unity OR it can be nested in spine-unity but all editor scripts need to be in one Editor folder. Right now the state is so that we have several Editor folders scattered over the runtime which does not go very well with ADF implementation.
Would it be please possible to make that change?
The issue we are facing is that Spine is blocking us to use ADF since our own scripts referencing Spine and if we create ADF for our scripts we need to give reference of Spine ADF which we can not reasonably create with Editor directories scattered over the runtime.
Does it make sense for you guys?
Thank you, Marek.
PS : Our project is around 4GB and compilation times are around 15s which we need to solve. :-(
Just if you missed that unity will be release https://forum.unity.com/threads/unity-incremental-c-compiler.523993/ which is actually addressing this issue plus gives developers in hands C#7 coding features. For incremental compiler to work at its best we are advised to structure our projects with ADFs.
