  • Help! Export warnings: Image for slots "xxx" not found: xxx

When I export my character it keeps giving me the Image for slots "xxxx" not found: xxxx for every single asset, even though everything looks fine in the editor and in unity.

The warning is not causing any thoubles (that I know of) it´s just really annoying and I´m afraid that if I ignore it I´ll pay the price later on.

I attached a screenshot of the warning

Please help!

Spine looks in the images folder as described here:
Images - Spine User Guide: Image file lookup

Those warnings mean that when it exported, it couldn't find those images. As for why you don't see anything wrong in the editor, the attachments could be in a skin or otherwise not visible.

It still doesn't make any sense. I deleted all skins but one so there is no way it's trying to find an attachment in another skin that is messed up, even though the skin I'm looking right now looks fine. And it's still giving me the same warnings.

You can see my character has all his attachments right, there is only one skin (the one we are looking) and it still says it can't find the images.

Any ideas why this is happening?

I just found out a way to fix it. I still don't understand what the problem was. But I clicked on each skin placeholder, duplicated it and then deleted the original one (then I removed the xxx2 sufix from the duplicates). That fixed it. Of course it was annoying to do, but less annoying than getting that warning every time I export.
That was very weird.

Great, though we would still like to see your project. It seems there is data there you aren't seeing, possibly due to a bug in deleting parts of a skeleton that leave some parts behind.

Sure. Here it is (the version where the warning bug is still happening)

Thanks for the file. Attachments from your deleted skin were orphaned in the project file, I assume from a bug in an older version of Spine. In the latest version, it now fixes this up:
