After all these meetings at various conventions , it's time to get backto the game and show new stuff !
Here are some excerpts from the animations of the Achaean Warrior. Equipped with an energy shield and his sword, He's mostly on his guard and seeks to deal a powerful blow to our hero.

We try to make all our animation with japanese tricks like Vanillaware do, it's a long hard job mais the result begins to be good. When you're avalaible Shiu, we want to send to you this.spine to discuss on some elements like visibility keys system.

Nice animations ( I have been following this post for a while), our animator thinks they are great too!

regarding the last animation, in the idle pose, the leg on the left (his right) looks, strange, wasn't obvious at first but once I saw it I cant stop seeing it. it looks very wobbly as if this guy has a lot of cellulite. Just my opinion 🙂

Thanks BinaryCats ! Yeah you're right about deformations. When we look the same animation over and over, sometimes we focus on an element. I'm agreed with you ahah, he has some cellulite ^^

Oh! I understand you, I am the only developer in the Ilios team and it's sometimes funny when I have to explain the character poses I need with stickmen. Maybe I should code a mode for the game where all the graphs are made by the programmer.

As you may know, we have been working with Spine to prepare our 2D HD game and there are only...
4 days left before the beginning of our Kickstarter!

Today, we’re very proud to introduce an artwork of our hero Politès by the great Kazuma Teshigahara, character designer for Street Fighter IV 🙂
“My first feeling when I have played Ilios for the first time was this love that the designers had for action games in 2D, thanks to superb graphics and very living characters’ animations.
I have played a demo which ended at the end of the first level, but this short introduction was attractive enough to give me the envy to play the rest.
Obviously, I felt a huge joy when they told me that this project, full of passion and worthy successor of many japanese games from the same kind, was in his final stretch on Kickstarter.

We are very active about the Spine software and show how we work on our characters at a lot of conventions in France and UK.
We hope to have the time to share our trials and errors, so that everyone can benefit from our experience.

It might be an error on my end, but it seems that the first three GIFs (fight, explore, improve) were not set for infinite repeat, as the turn to white after one cycle. 🙂

Hi everyone!

here is a timelapse video of our animation system with the Spine software. One of our animator Rodrigue recorded the run cycle creation of our hero, Polites. This step is a part of the whole process. Next step will be to refine the animation and realize the final painting of each part of animation frame.

Sorry guys, I wish you would have hit the goal. It's rough out there and hard to get noticed. I think the closer you are to finishing and the more you can excite people about that, the better you can do. FWIW, Spine was at version 1.0 and usable when we did our first KickStarter to fund more runtimes.

Keep at it and you will succeed!
