I'm trying to created a linked mesh for a 'beard' skin. My goal is to add this linked mesh to my 'FullSkin' skin, which is basically the complete character with all his dress up options. But whenever I create a linked mesh I immediately see a warning icon next to my mesh in the hierarchy tree. And when I add the linked mesh in the same slot in the 'FullSkin' skin, the vertices of the beard mesh get deformed.
Linked mesh issue

Hello, you get the warning icon because when you create the linked mesh, it is automatically placed outside the skin placeholder so that is can be easier for you to move the beard linked mesh to the correct skin.
But the fact that this linked mesh is in no skin causes the warning icon to be displayed as long as not in a skin, because the bones it is supposed to be bound to are in a skin, and not active if no skin is active.
This is an easy fix: simply add the linked mesh back in the skin placeholder with the correct skin active, and make sure to also add the beard bones to it. You'll see the mesh is restored and the warning icon will also go away
But haven't I done what you said in the second image?
I've added the 'Beard_linked' linked mesh to the correct active skin and placed it in the 'Beard' skin placeholder.
Erika escribióand make sure to also add the beard bones to it
Don't forget to also add the bones that the mesh is bound to! From the screenshot they are dimmed out, which means they are in a skin, but not the currently selected skin. Select the skin this new beard is in, then in the properties choose "add to skin" and pick the bones from the list to add them correctly.
