That's a good clue! Spine communicates on port 443 (HTTPS) to api.esotericsoftware.com. Something in your WIFI/router or maybe your ISP or possibly in your computer's network configuration that is specific to your WIFI seems to be blocking that communication. I'm not aware of any obvious settings that would cause this problem. I'm afraid it's difficult for me to debug those things further, since they are pretty specific to your setup.

Another clue is that you said it was working yesterday but not today. Something somewhere had to have changed!

Yeah That's true, it was working Yesterday afternoon
till i downloaded Spine Skeleton Viewer and double clicked to open it.

after that, when I tried opening Spine, it stopped working.

Spine has it's own, private Java that it uses. Skeleton Viewer uses your system Java installation and doesn't do any network communication, it really shouldn't affect Spine at all. :confused:

I'm seriously in trouble Nate , I need to get the project done, and Spine doesn't, I have not changed any setting too.

You said you connected to your cell hotspot and then Spine would run? That should be all you need, for now at least

Spine only needs to be online to download an update file, after that it can run offline.

As for actually fixing the problem, we have to somehow figure out what it is about your network configuration that is blocking Spine, but I'm afraid I don't have any ideas. Maybe you can login to your router and find some logs or some clue as to what is going on.

Hi guys. I have the same problem. I am working on a mac. I can´t find the spine.log file. I disabled the firewall but it does not work. "Sorry, the server could not be contacted. Please check your internet connection and any firewall settings that may be blocking spine." I also tried to work with my smartphone as a hotspot, but it does not work. Can you help me?

Jan-Ahoiii, sorry you are having trouble! Did you download and reinstall Spine? Due to a certificate expiration, you'll need to do that else it can't reach the server. That is the most likely problem. If you can't find your Spine license page, you can use the license recovery page:

Absolutely! The PKIX path building failed part of the error message looks like it's the same problem as above in this thread
