Is anyone using a wacom and OSX? I am trying to assign custom keys to my intuos and when I set cmd Z it plays the timeline backward.
The reason I use the wacom for keys is because Spine doesn't work with a non Apple keyboard on a Mac it seems. All the keys are in the wrong place on non standard Apple keyboards.
Now the wacom also seems not to work.
This really doesn't seem to be software meant for a mac.

Well, I know all instances of ctrl are converted to cmd on mac.
So if your keyboard doesn't have a cmd key, ctrl won't work.

Though I know there's an abstraction layer in the software that's mediating these keybind things between the Spine program and the OS. Nate will probably know what's up.

Can you describe with examples what you mean by "keys are in the wrong place"?
And what do you mean by "non-standard Apple keyboards"? Do you mean you're using non-QWERTY? or ones with a different language? Or using different language settings on the OS?
or are you using 3rd-party keyboards like Logitech ones? Or you're using a Windows keyboard on a Mac?
Might help Nate and Shiu find out what's wrong.

I am using a Qwerty logitech keyboard. A corded wave keyboard for mac. It has all the needed mac keys.
I am using the US extended layout.

The keyboard has two cmd keys one on each side of the spacebar. The left one is the one most people use to use do cmd + Z (ctrl Z)
On this keyboard yo have to use the right one. (if mapped to a logitech mouse it is actually left and right cmd pressed at once :s, according to the window in the logitech mouse manager).

I tried the original mac keyboard and it works as intended.

I gave up on the keyboard as it can be used just have to switch cmd keys (not ideal, but workable).
I tried to map my wacom to the correct keys, but somehow it does a complete different thing. If I press the undo key combo and map that. It plays the dopesheet backwards.

The wacom doesn't just not recognise, it completely makes up the key combos it is given. I use the wacom a lot with custom key combo's this is the first time I encountered this.

Oh, that was you who reported needing to press the right cmd key. That definitely sounds like a bug.
I wonder if Nate or Shiu have a response for you. That last thread fell quiet.

It really sounds like something silly is going on with keybindings with different keyboards. I vaguely recall Nate talking about a related issue before.

Spine checks both the left and right cmd keys and considers cmd to be pressed if either or both are pressed. I'm not sure why your specific keyboard causes the left cmd to not be detected. We've never had the issue reported before.

Pressing A will play backwards by default. Wacom is supposed to send cmd+Z but Spine receives A? Really bizarre!

I'm not sure how I can debug these issues further since I don't see them happening. Is anyone else using an Intuos with Spine?

Well What I do now is, I mapped the cmd key to my logitech mouse. So it works. Will fiddle with the Wacom some more.
Will try to map it to a and see what it does.

I can't get the CMD key to work from my Wacom keys either. CMD works on every other app, except Spine. Any solutions out there?

Hi, is there any solution after two years? I have same issue... for remind "cmd key mapped on Wacom plays the timeline backwards"
I have OSX 10.11.6, Cintiq24HD, Spine ver. 3.5.51. Thanks in advance

---

modifier keys (cmd, option, …) and shortcuts with modifiers (cmd+z, …)
-plays timeline backward “a” (cmd+q works, but this shortcut has nothing to do with Spine)

modifier clicks and other shortcuts (y, u, j)
-works fine

Wacom Cintiq 24hd is realy huge thing, so keyboard is nearly on the other side of room and its uncomfortable to reach it. Is there any way how to use profesional software like Spine, with profesional hardware like Wacom? (yeah i can change shortcuts, but it isnt realy solution)

Confirmed. Please follow this issue: Wacom buttons don't use bound modifiers in OSX · #174 · EsotericSoftware/spine-editor

Found and fixed the issue (it's complicated :)). Should be part of the next 3.6-beta release, and the official 3.6 release. Please provide feedback for macOS + Wacom!

Strange... modifiers (cmd for selecting bones...) works fine, but shortcuts with modifiers (cmd+z...) works only once. This is happen no matter if i press shortcut on keyboard or wacom.

(3.6.26 beta, El Capitan, Cintiq 24)
