Chiquita

Hello,

I just made a payment on your website.
I had the impression that your website didn't provide any SSL or encrypted transaction when paying by card.
Could you confirm this if that's correct please?

Thanks

We are using Stripe as our payment processor and the transfer of your credit card information is done via SSL and stored in compliance with regulations on their end.

I couldn't see anything mentioning Stripe or any other SSL during the payment process.
Just a little window where to write the card details (or eventually pay by Alipay).
The link of the page isn't/wasn't showing any lock either, as for a private connection (I know that this might not depend of you or it might).
I trust everything is in order. I might consider blocking the card I used.
Any reason why you don't provide payments through Paypal?

The purchase page uses SSL. The little window that pops up (which is Stripe behind the scenes) also uses SSL.

We used to accept PayPal, though many customers were upset when PayPal would freeze their payment for a day or two. Then we started getting many fraudulent purchases, and PayPal charges us $20 for each one. After multiple hundreds of dollars in these fees, we will not accept PayPal again. They are a nasty company, both for the buyer and the seller. Accepting credit cards still has the risk of fraudulent purchases and the $20 chargeback fee, however Stripe takes measures to reduce the number of fraudulent transactions allowed. We get maybe 2 per year instead of 25+ with PayPal.

Ok that sounds reassuring.
Thanks for your explanation.

Had the same concerns as Chiquita. So i aborted the paying process. Will restart purchase afterwards, but I will have a hard time to get the CC from my boss when he can not see whats going on. :(
It would be very cool if you considered a purchase solution where the user can be sure the transmission of the CC data is ssl-encrypted.

I don't understand, your browser shows you that the Spine purchase page is secure.

Chrome:

Firefox:

The dialog that opens when you purchase is on the same page, so it is also secure. We could put a little lock or something, but that is just fluff -- the only thing you should trust is what the browser says next to the page URL.
