When I export an animation as a Json file version 3.8 the resulting file loses any rotation information. I am a complete newbie to animating, so am I missing something in the file setup?

Does your skeleton have a key that records more than 360 degrees of rotation? Since it is only in 4.0 and later versions that it is possible to set values for rotations of more than 360 degrees in the local or parent axis, those keys may be lost when exporting to downgrade to 3.8.

To adapt to 3.8, adding some keys for the middle of the rotation might work.

You're on to something because this issue does not occur if I export as v4.0. I added extra keys as you suggested, but unfortunately it's not solving the issue for v3.8.

I'm also baffled because the rotation is less than 360 degrees. I'm going to keep working on this, so let me know if you have anything else I should try.

Exporting JSON less than the current version is subject to data loss. Generally it should be avoided except for emergencies.

We can take a look if you provide the 4.0 project and point out which rotation value you are seeing the issue with.
